Hello SURGE fans and welcome to the 97th edition of SaveSURGE News! Every day, finding new ways for fighting to save the soda you love.
Have you contacted Coke today? Friday, May 7 is the final day of our Contact Coca-Cola Week. Write them, call them, bug them! Don’t miss this opportunity to let your voice be heard. The more of us who contact them, the better our chances of sipping that sweet SURGE once again!
Here’s how you can contact Coke:
By Phone: Call them toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE
By Web: Write to them via the Consumer Feedback Form on their website:

Sightings Report
There were no new SURGE Sightings Reported since the last edition of SaveSURGE News.
It was the roughest week in our history for SURGE Sightings as there were 26 deletions. SURGE fans Steve & Tommy made some phone calls to a good number of listings and found that many locations are just unable to get SURGE fountain syrup. However, this was not unexpected. It’s been known for some time that virtually every Coca-Cola bottlers we know of no longer carries SURGE syrup. Most likely, those Sightings that still do have SURGE are just using up their remaining supplies before switching to something else.
There is no reason to panic because frankly, this in no way will hinder our efforts to bring SURGE back. With the unbelievable response to The Survey to Save SURGE and Contact Coca-Cola Day (which has turned into a whole week due to popular demand), the SaveSURGE campaign has never been stronger!
And so, here is the big list of deletions:
Talladega, AL; Conway, AR; Fayetteville, AR; Canyon Country, CA; Lancaster, CA; Sierra Madre, CA; Kissimmee, FL; Lakeland, FL; Orlando, FL; St. Cloud, FL; Duluth, GA; Marietta, GA; Bedford, IN; Louisville, KY; Ocean City, MD; Greenville, NC; Clifton, NJ; Stanhope, NJ; Wayne, NJ; Syracuse, NY; Utica, NY; Austinburg, OH; Circleville, OH; Willoughby, OH; Amarillo, TX & Houston, TX.

Coca-Cola Names New Chairman/CEO
SaveSURGE.org would like to congratulate E. Neville Isdell for being named the new Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company. Mr. Isdell worked for Coca-Cola and its bottlers all over the world from 1966 until his retirement in 2001. He is expected to take over for retiring CEO Doug Daft this summer.
While I’m not a stock analyst (you know, those people who love to put their 2 cents in for every decision a company makes), I have to say that I think this is a great move for Coke. It’s obvious that Mr. Isdell has the experience and knowledge of Coke’s inner-workings necessary to be a successful CEO.
Best wishes to Mr. Isdell and let’s hope that he enjoys SURGE! As for Doug Daft, he faced some tough challenges during his tenure but did a great job in guiding the company through. SaveSURGE.org would like to wish him a happy retirement.
Andrew and Will Inducted into the Hall
Will Brandum and Andrew Rector are the two newest members to be enshrined in the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame. Both of these men have displayed a fierce loyalty to SURGE and a willingness to go that extra mile to help bring their favorite soda back.
Will Brandum is famous for owning an original SURGE Checker Cab which he won during SURGE’s heyday. However, his contribution goes well beyond his unique automobile. Will has made significant contributions to our SURGE Sightings list as well as to our For the Love of SURGE section.

New Love This Week
We’ve had 2 great new additions to our For the Love of SURGE section this week:
First, Samantha shares the story of how she found a SURGE Sighting on a much-too-hot spring day in California.
Next, SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Jim tells us about how he recently received a 12oz. can of SURGE (with the original logo) from a very unexpected source.

Poll Results – Coke has been contacted
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: Did you participate in Contact Coca-Cola Day?
71.3% - Yes
28.6% - No
Total Votes: 115
I guess the more appropriate question would be did you participate in Contact Coca-Cola Week? But at the time the poll went live, the event was still only going to last a day.
A great big thank you goes out to each and every SURGE fan who has participated in both contacting Coke and the Survey to Save SURGE. I can’t even begin to tell you how much your efforts mean to not only Avery & myself, but to the campaign to bring our favorite soda back as well. Your help is making a huge difference and hopefully soon all of your hard work will pay off. Keep up the tremendous work!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
