Greetings SURGE fans and welcome to the 96th edition of SaveSURGE News! As always, we are working hard to bring the SURGE back to the people.
Today is Contact Coca-Cola Day!
As I write this it is just past 9:00 AM Eastern on Friday, April 30th. This means that Coca-Cola’s customer service center in Atlanta has just opened for the day. We’re asking each and every one of you to contact Coca-Cola as many times as you can today and politely request that SURGE be brought back!
Here’s how you can contact Coke:
By Phone: Call them toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE
By Web: Write to them via the Consumer Feedback Form on their website:
http://www2.coca-cola.com/mail/eQuery_other.html
Our goal is to overwhelm them with these polite requests all throughout the day in hopes that it will make them see the light and bring SURGE back. I know we can do this, now let’s dial that number and click that link!
Sightings Report
There was 1 new SURGE Sighting reported since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. It is in Bangor, ME.
Sadly, there were 3 deletions in Columbus, OH; Rowland Heights, CA & Yorba Linda, CA.
Currently, there are 123 SURGE Sightings listed. Thanks to all of you who have seen SURGE!
I’d also like to note that our friend Steve has been hard at working calling various businesses listed on the Sightings page. He has unfortunately found that a lot of places have since stopped selling SURGE in their fountains. This was not unexpected, though, as SURGE syrup has been extremely difficult to find. The full listing of these deletions will be posted to the site during the first week of May. A great big thanks goes out to Steve for his hard work!

Survey Tops 1,000 Responses
The Survey to Save SURGE, which was on the site from 4/21 - 4/29 collected a total of 1,091 responses! The amount of participation by SURGE fans is truly amazing and we’d like to thank all of you for your help! We were hoping for just a few hundred participants but to top the 1,000 mark in just over a week is incredible.
The results of the survey will be shared with Coca-Cola and its bottlers and will go a long way in showing how much of a demand there is for SURGE. The fact that so many people participated in such a short amount of time is sure to help our cause.
Without the hard work of so many dedicated SURGE fans, this survey would not have been such a success. We can’t stress just how much this survey means to the future of SURGE. As a way of saying thank you, be sure to keep checking SaveSURGE.org during the next few weeks for the return of our “unannounced” contests! We’ll be giving away a few items from the SaveSURGE.org Store as a small token of our appreciation for your continued support.
Hall of Fame Inductions Set for 5/1/04
It is indeed that time of the season. The flowers are blooming and the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame is gearing up to induct two new members. Be sure to check the site on Saturday, May 1 to see who made the cut. If you didn’t make it this time around, don’t be sad. You can always fill out the application on the site and your day of glory could be just around the corner. Already filled out the application? Then we have it on file and you are already in our thoughts for the next round of inductions on 8/1/04.

You Can See the Love
We’ve had some great additions to our For the Love of SURGE section this past week:
- Greg & Ralph have added some great pics of their SURGE (and Citra) memorabilia collection. Ever see 121 twelve-packs of Citra in somebody’s home? You can now!
- SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Salvadore has created an excellent graphic showing what SURGE might look like if it were a major NASCAR sponsor.
Check out these contributions and many more in For the Love of SURGE:

Poll Results – You are a confident bunch!
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: How confident are you that SURGE will return in some form?
42.7% - Very Confident
39.1% - Somewhat Confident
18.1% - Not At All Confident
Total Votes: 138
The overwhelming majority of you have at least some confidence that SURGE will come back in some form. With all of the hard work SURGE fans have put in, you deserve to be confident! If we continue to show how much we care about SURGE, Coca-Cola is going to listen.
That’s all the time we have for this week. Thanks again for your continued support and may you eternally feed the rush!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
