Greetings SURGE fans and welcome to the 92nd edition of SaveSURGE News! Recommended by Coca-Cola bottlers for its fully loaded goodness (seriously, read the story below).
Speaking of fully loaded goodness, wouldn’t you like to have SURGE back in your local stores? Give Coca-Cola a call, toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE and let them know that you want your favorite soda back again. You may also want to contact your local bottler via our Coca-Cola Directory, located at:

There were no new SURGE Sightings listed since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. However, there is a hint of one that may exist up in the Erie, PA area:

Hopefully it turns out to be a reality!
Sadly, there were 5 deletions in: Athens, GA; Dublin, GA; Anderson, SC; Charleston, SC & Rockhill, SC.
Currently, there are 128 SURGE Sightings listed. Thanks to all of you who are always on the lookout for SURGE!

SaveSURGE.org Recommended by Bottler – should Coke HQ do the same?
SURGE fan Will has been writing to Coca-Cola Bottlers in search of information regarding the giveaway of SURGE cabs back in 1997, one of which he won. A bottler in Eagan, MN wrote him back but unfortunately couldn’t tell him anything about the contest. However, the bottler representative did recommend that he visit SaveSURGE.org! Check out this transcript of the letter:
“March 23, 2004
Dear Mr. Brandum:
Thank you for your interest in the Midwest Division’s Surge Soda Checker Cab. It is my displeasure to inform you that the cab is spoken for at this time. And, unfortunately, I do not have any of the details regarding the original promotion for the cab.
Currently, the best place to find any information regarding Surge is on www.savesurge.org.
Good luck, and thank you for your support of Coca-Cola.
Sincerely,
Kari xxxx
Coca-Cola North America
Midwest Marketing Division”
We’re honored to have been recommended by Kari! This got SURGE fan John thinking, wouldn’t it be great if Coca-Cola recommended us to anyone who asks about SURGE? Whenever you’re in contact with Coke, you might want to casually mention that they should recommend SaveSURGE.org to their customers who ask about SURGE!
Scotto’s No Longer Shipping SURGE
Scotto’s American Grocery in New Zealand is apparently no longer willing to ship SURGE to the USA. SURGE fan Alex wrote in this week and reports that he was told that the cost of shipping SURGE to the USA coupled with the effort required to ship it was just too much.
Visit Scotto’s at: http://www.scottos.co.nz
Expired SURGE can still be purchased online from SodaFavorites:

SaveSURGE Radio Gaining Listeners, Gets Own Page
There has been a very positive response to SaveSURGE Radio since it started broadcasting back in the middle of March. As of this writing, listeners have spent over 112 hours listening to the alternative music station since 3/10/04.
I’d also like to note that we are currently looking for independent and/or unsigned bands and artists who are interested in having their music played on SaveSURGE Radio. Send an e-mail containing your name, a description of your music (please DO NOT send any music files) and your website address to: surge@savesurge.org.
For more information on SaveSURGE Radio, and to listen in please visit:

Dan’s Fully Loaded Windows XP Boot Screen
Dan has created an excellent SURGE-themed Windows XP boot screen which is available to download at:
http://www.angelfire.com/realm3/surge/boot/
Be sure to check it out! Also, make sure you know what you’re doing before you install one of these themes. Changing Windows files can be dangerous so please do some research before trying this!
Poll Results – The New Coke CEOs: Avery & Eric
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: Who should the next CEO of Coke be?
43.7% - Avery & Eric
21.8% - The Rock
18.7% - Jackie Chan
13.5% - Oprah
2% - Steve Heyer
Total Votes: 96
Avery and I would be honored to serve you as the CEOs of Coke! Interestingly, the only person here who has a legitimate shot at actually becoming the CEO is Steve Heyer. But hey, it’s nice for us to be the frontrunner in the polls!
That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
