Hello fellow SURGE addicts, it's time for the
8th edition of SaveSURGE news!
We have lots to report this week, so let's get
right to it, shall we?
What's New with SURGE
----------------------
First and foremost, the bad news. As many of you know, I have quite
a stash of SURGE in my home. The stash came from a town about 30
minutes south of here called Chambersburg. Many of their stores
have been carrying SURGE in both 12 packs and 6 packs of cans. The
store that undoubtedly had the most SURGE was the local Wal-Mart.
Well, as of last week, Wal-Mart has gotten rid of SURGE and replaced
it with Mello Yello and Fresca :( Also at last report, the Giant
grocery store was out of SURGE as well. So it looks like I may have
to make my stash last longer than I originally thought...
Also, our friend Will (he owns a SURGE cab!) reports
that the Central States Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Springfield,
IL has stopped producing SURGE. They were also going to dismantle
their own SURGE cab.
So, on this front it has been a tough week for
SURGE lovers everywhere.
Site News
----------------------
Even through the bad news, we've stayed strong with the help of
SURGE lovers like YOU! :) Because of you, we've added:
- A few additions to the Sightings
page
- A fantastic new addition to our For
the Love of SURGE section thanks to our friend Phil in which
he includes his Shrine to SURGE!
- Plus, Avery has written a great new section
of the site called FAQs.
Check it out to get some answers regarding SURGE.
Don't Give Up
----------------------
So, even as some negative situations arise with our favorite beverage,
let's not let it get us down! We have to continue to let Coca-Cola,
their bottlers and the entire world know how much SURGE means to
us. We have to sign the petition, write letters, send e-mails, faxes
and make sure that SURGE will not go down without a fight.
We can make a difference! And the best place to
start is on our How
You Can Help page. Wow, I feel like I'm coaching the Super Bowl
or something, that was kinda nice :)
Anyway, have a great week and check every fountain
you see for SURGE!!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
