Hello everyone and welcome to the 65th edition
of SaveSURGE News! A day without SURGE is like a day without oxygen:
you start hallucinating and then everything you see turns green.
Sightings Report
There were 3 new SURGE
Sightings reported since the last edition of SaveSURGE News.
They are in: CT, OR & WI.
Great news as there were NO deletions this week!
I can't remember the last time that happened.
Currently, there are 159 SURGE Sightings listed.
A great big thank you goes out to all of you who look for SURGE
wherever you go!
National SaveSURGE Month
- Let's finish up strong!
As National SaveSURGE
Month rolls into its final week, Avery & I would like to
congratulate each of you who participated because you have made
a difference! But don't hang up that phone just yet. We still have
one more Friday to make those phone calls and write those letters.
Just because the homestretch is upon us doesn't mean that we can
take it easy. This final week is crucial in showing just how much
SURGE fans care about the soda they love. We must keep working to
convince Coca-Cola, its bottlers and local businesses who serve
Coke products that SURGE deserves a second chance.
You've all done such a wonderful job of spreading
the word so far this September. Now it's time to bring that sweet
citrus love all the way home!
Love those Logos
We
at SaveSURGE.org have been very pleased that some very dedicated
fans have donated their time and creativity to share with us their
vision of what a new SURGE logo should be. Many thanks go out to
Heather, Kid
Caliente and MRA
John for creating such artistic new logos for our beloved SURGE!
You can check them out in our For the Love of
SURGE - Stories & Photos
section. Maybe they will inspire you to try your own logo!
Andrew Spreads the Word
Major
props go out to Andrew who donated a ton of stuff to the site this
past week. He started out by sending along photos of him and his
friends spending a night out posting SaveSURGE.org Flyers around
their town. They made copies, they brought along the scotch tape
and they made difference! If you have the Macromedia Flash browser
plug-in, you can check out this awesome display of soda activism
in For the Love of SURGE - Stories and Photos section. You also
notice that Andrew is wearing his SaveSURGE.org Baseball T!
Andrew certainly wasn't finished as he also sent
in some photos of his efforts to win a stuffed-toy SURGE can from
an arcade machine, a copy of a SURGE musical he found online awhile
back, a recent letter he sent to his local bottler and even a recipe
for some delicious SURGE Jell-O. Thanks Andrew - you helped to make
SaveSURGE.org even more fun this week!
Joe Knows SURGE
We
recently received a letter from a very dedicated SURGE fan named
Joe Meyer. He's a good friend of SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Tim
Kelly, he runs the Tune Town music store over at 650 Portion
Rd. in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY and is also a very talented cartoonist.
His love of SURGE is so strong that he often makes
it an integral part of his comic strips. The cover of his latest
book, 365 Joe Full Circle, even has a familiar looking green bottle
in the background!
We encourage you to check
out Joe's comic archive, available at:

/lst?.dir=/365joearchive
Joe's book, 365 Joe Full
Circle, is available online at:
http://www.landwaster.com/
Thanks for your loyalty to SURGE, Joe!
Pepsi Vanilla - How do you like it?
The
subject of Pepsi Vanilla was not a particularly busy one over on
the SaveSURGE.org Message board this week as there was just one
message posted about the new drink:
"Vanilla Pepsi rules over Vanilla Coke! It
is like Vanilla Coke, but without the bad aftertaste!
But Surge is still the best of all!!"
-Surge is Teh Bestest! (sic)
Do you have an opinion on Pepsi Vanilla? Post
it on the SaveSURGE.org message board and it could end up in the
next edition of SaveSURGE News! Post your opinions here:

Poll Results - Just give me One More SURGE
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: Which song in the SURGE Multimedia
Section is your favorite?
57.4% - One More Surge by RMJ
24% - Surge - I drink U by Timb
18.5% - 88 Lines about 44 SURGE Drinkers by Trixie and the Misdemeanors
Total Votes: 54
Way to go RMJ! Congratulations to all three artists
because each of these songs rule! I want to give my apologies to
Timb & Trixie and the Misdemeanors because frankly I didn't
give them nearly enough promotion on the site when their songs came
out back in SaveSURGE.org's infancy (we were all a lot younger back
then). I encourage those of you who haven't heard these three great
songs to check them out today in SURGE Multimedia - located under
the For the Love of SURGE menu on the top of every page.
That's all the time we have for this week. Keep fighting that good
fight and one day soon we will BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
