Sightings Report

There were 4 new SURGE Sightings reported since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. They are in: CA, GA (2) & TN.

Sadly, there were 9 deletions in: AR, CA, GA, KY (2), NY, OH, PA & WI.

Currently, there are 159 SURGE Sightings listed. Thanks to all of you for keeping an eye out for SURGE!


National SaveSURGE Month Arrives with a Bang;
And a New Logo for SURGE???

The new SURGE???The calendar had only been on September for a little more than a day and already National SaveSURGE Month got a whole lot bigger! Quite the discovery was made and it has SURGE fans everywhere glowing with positive vibes.

A newly designed logo and ad campaign for our beloved SURGE was found at the website of i3 Productions (www.i3productions.com) located in Allen, Texas! The logo is quite different than what SURGE fans are used to in that its primary color is blue and it features lighting bolts. Also, the familiar "Feed the Rush" slogan was replaced with "Shock the System". We must note that this new look is listed as Spec Work - meaning Coca-Cola hired i3 Productions to create these graphics as a sample only. This doesn't necessarily mean that SURGE is coming back just yet. Full color photos are available at both i3 Productions and SaveSURGE.org.

The new sample logo has already received mixed reviews among SURGE fans over on the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board but most everyone agrees that it's a huge step forward at the same time. Just the fact that Coca-Cola hired i3 Productions to create this new look means that they have indeed been thinking about SURGE in recent months. It means that Coke is out there and listening to SURGE fans. It also means that National SaveSURGE Month couldn't be happening at a better time!

Here's what we're asking each of you to do:

Every Friday: We're asking EVERY SURGE FAN to contact Coca-Cola, its Bottlers and local businesses in your area that serve Coke products in their fountain. Request that SURGE be brought back IMMEDIATELY. Tell them how much SURGE means to you! It would also be great if everyone would call Coca-Cola's toll free number, 1-800-GET-COKE at least once each Friday as well.

Every Day of the Month: Spread the word about SURGE and SaveSURGE.org any way you can. Wear your SURGE gear, tell your friends, pass out our flyer, sign our petition, start your own local petition and let everyone know that WE WANT OUR SURGE BACK!

So there you have it SURGE fans. Something big is happening this September and it's up to us to make sure that Coca-Cola knows how much we want our favorite soda!!!


SaveSURGE.org Hits the Airwaves of Wisconsin
SURGE fans in the Madison, Wisconsin area will want to tune in to 100X FM (100.5 on your radio dial) on Tuesday, September 9th at 2PM Eastern Time (that's 1PM Central) for a live interview with SaveSURGE.org webmasters Avery Lund and Eric Karkovack! We're going to be talking SURGE, the site and of course National SaveSURGE Month. Don't you dare miss our first ever radio interview. Hey, it'll even be the first time Avery & Eric hear each other's voice!


SURGE Cab for Sale
Our SURGE Cab owning friend Will wrote in to let us know that there is a very cool cab for sale online (not his). It's a genuine 1980 Checker (with a Chevy motor) and is selling for a mere $1,900. Whole Lotta Love
There were several excellent additions to our For the Love of SURGE section this week. MRA John shows off his new eBay-bought 12 pack, the Sachs family shows us SURGE the cat and RMJ along with Kid Caliente sent in some great photos from their visit to a local Coca-Cola bottler. What I need to know is, where did RMJ get that cool Super Mario Bros. shirt he's wearing?
