Hello once again SURGE
fans and welcome to the 55th edition of SaveSURGE News! We treat
SURGE like England treats the Queen.
Sightings Report
There were 4 new SURGE
Sightings added since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. They
are in: AR, CA, LA & WA.
Sadly, there were 2 deletions in IL & WA.
Currently, there are 176 SURGE Sightings listed.
Major props go out to all of you who look for SURGE wherever you
go!
In other Sightings news, we heard from a SURGE
fan named Joe who found two bottles of Fully-Loaded goodness at
a gas station in Pennington, NJ this week! Joe said of his find,
"I think I found the last two bottles in the state of New Jersey!
I thought I found the holy grail!!!!"
What a great surprise it must be to walk into
a store and find SURGE! Enjoy those bottles Joe and I hope you find
many more in the near future.
SaveSURGE.org in Beverage Spectrum
SaveSURGE.org is scheduled to be included in the July 2003 issue
of Beverage Spectrum Magazine, which is due out in the very near
future. We will keep you updated and hopefully be able to post a
copy as soon as we receive it.
Pepsi Blue Gone, LiveWire
to Stay?
SURGE
fan MRZ wrote in with the details of a conversation he had with
a Pepsi employee:
"According to a local Super Stop & Shop
Pepsi stocker, I have heard that Pepsi Blue is going bye bye and
Mountain Dew LiveWire is staying. I also have tried this so called
Surge imitation and agree that it is close to a Pepsi equivalent,
and I have been drinking it for a week or two now. He said that
they have stopped stocking Pepsi Blue already and that LiveWire
will not be discontinued, contrary to what they had said. He said
that they were getting ready for their new soda adding to their
arsenal against Coke and their incredibly successful Vanilla Coke
with Vanilla Pepsi. I am going to e-mail Mountain Dew to see if
I can get more information on this and a confirmation that this
information is correct, but I think that it is a possibility.
-MRZ"
Thanks for the update MRZ! These statements are
a definite possibility as I cannot imagine enough people are buying
Pepsi Blue to keep it going and the fact that we hear from so many
LiveWire fans makes you think that it will stick around for awhile.
The scariest part of all this is the new Pepsi Vanilla. I really
don't care for the taste of Pepsi at all but then again, I haven't
tasted the vanilla version yet. Who knows, maybe I'll even like
it?!?
Hall of Famers to Receive Special Prize
As
if being in the SaveSURGE.org
Hall of Fame wasn't a big enough thrill, this week the Hall
of Famers both present and future got word of a special surprise
in their e-mail box. A special mug has been created which bears
the name of each member of the Hall. This beautiful mug is exclusive
to Hall of Famers and will be provided free of charge as a token
of our appreciation for all of their great efforts.
Stay tuned for the Hall of Fame inductions on
August 1, 2003 and hopefully we'll have some mug shots! Ok, bad
joke ;)
Save $$$ at the SaveSURGE.org Store

always wanted along with a great t-shirt and a couple of bumper

in the Coupon Code box when entering your payment info.
Poll Results - You'll go far for the taste
you love
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: How many miles would you travel
to get a SURGE?
58.6% - More than 50 miles
13% - 0-5 miles
9.7% - 20-30 miles
8.6% - 10-20 miles
6.5% - 30-50 miles
3.2% - 5-10 miles
Total Votes: 92
A trip of 50 miles or more doesn't scare the majority
of SURGE fans. I have to wonder how much the numbers would change
if instead of visiting fountain locations there were 12 packs instead!
That's all the time we have for this week. Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
