Currently, there are 177 SURGE Sightings listed. Thanks to everyone who keeps an eye out for SURGE wherever they go.

SaveSURGE.org to be featured in Beverage Spectrum Magazine
We are very pleased to announce that SaveSURGE.org will be featured in the July 2003 edition of Beverage Spectrum Magazine! This will be the second feature for SURGE and the site in as many months. As announced in the 51st Edition of SaveSURGE News, we are featured in the June 03 edition of Beverage World.

Beverage Spectrum is an industry magazine that published its first issue in March of this year. A special thank you to Managing Editor Laurie Russo for allowing us to be included in this issue!

The article is about nostalgic, hard-to-find sodas that still have large followings. While the focus of the piece will be on older brands, Beverage Spectrum was kind enough to include SURGE and SaveSURGE.org to show that newer brands with younger fans can also stir up some strong feelings, just like the old sodas.

We will have more information about the article as it becomes available to us.

URGE in the USA Update
Our friends over at Real Soda (http://www.realsoda.com) are in the process of trying to make contacts over in Norway so that they can possibly import SURGE's Norwegian cousin, URGE, to the USA! This is an ongoing process that may take some time and we ask for your patience.

However, it's still very important to let Real Soda know that we want our URGE. If you haven't previously logged on to their message board, please visit and post your request for URGE today by clicking here.

Zach Reviews LiveWire
Zach is a SURGE fan who just recently found SaveSURGE.org. He was kind enough to share his review of Mountain Dew LiveWire with us:

"Today was my first day going back to the gas station nearest me since discovering savesurge.org. Unfortunately, no Surge in the Fountain Drinks section as I hoped. I did, however, pick up a bottle of Mountain Dew LiveWire while I was there. I thought at first this was going to be another stupid Orange soda until Timb said it was just like Surge. On my way to work, I sip some of it, and DAMN! He was right! I haven't had Surge in awhile, but this definitely reminded me of it.

It tasted too much like Surge, I think Pepsi looked for a way to steal an idea but twist it around a bit and sell it for the summer. I have since bought a lot more but let me compare it to Surge now. While it did have a great Surge taste to it, there were things about it that just didn't make it Surge. For one thing, the caffeine was very low, if there was any to start with. Surge seemed to have a lot, and every time I had a Surge, it would leave a very sweet aftertaste in my mouth which got me addicted to it. But this stuff just doesn't have it. Also, after reading the ingredients, They added Orange Juice from Concentrate, which also in a little way, made it taste like an Orange soda, with a twist to it.

Final Thoughts? If you crave Surge, then this will probably sustain you, at least for the rest of Summer 2003, but it is worth trying. I wouldn't call this a Surge clone, but rather, I'd call it Surge's Evil Twin."

Thank you for your thoughts, Zach! If you would like to send in your review of Mountain Dew LiveWire, please e-mail it to us at surge@savesurge.org.
