Hello again everyone and
welcome to the 46th edition of SaveSURGE News! We're the one and
only source for news and information on the world of SURGE.
Sightings Report
It was quite a tough week for SURGE
Sightings. There was just 1 new SURGE Sighting added this week.
It is in North Canton, OH.
Sadly, there were 6 deletions. They are in: CA,
FL, GA, NC & PA (2).
Currently, there are 177 SURGE Sightings listed.
Thanks to all of you who look out for SURGE wherever you go!
Surrender to your URGE
SaveSURGE.org is continuing our campaign to bring SURGE's Norwegian
equivalent, URGE to the good old USA. We're trying to convince the
great folks over at Real
Soda to use their industry connections to import some of that
delicious citrus soda for all to enjoy.
We ask that you please visit the Real Soda message
board topic we created and let them know that we want our URGE!

We need to get as many people as possible to sign
so please do it today!
More Publicity Coming Soon
While we can't release specific details just yet, SaveSURGE.org
will soon be featured in another publication! It's supposed to be
coming out in June so stay tuned for more details
MiLo & oTis Feed the Rush in a Different Way
MiLo
& oTis are always on the lookout for SURGE. They are constantly
searching high and low for the delicious taste of their favorite
neon-green beverage. So, while on a SURGE Hunt at the Steak 'N Shake
restaurant in Columbus, OH, the guys were no doubt a little disappointed
that their soda of choice was nowhere to be found. However, that
disappointment quickly turned around as they noticed a bus boy carrying
a tray that was emblazoned with the SURGE logo!
After some intense negotiations they ended up
purchasing this very rare piece of SURGE memorabilia for a mere
$10. They were kind enough to donate some pictures of their experience
(not to mention the tray!) and we've posted it for you in our For
the Love of SURGE section. Be sure to check it out!
Jim Hates Sprite Tropical Remix Too
Jim is one of the most diehard SURGE fans out there and is a great
friend of SaveSURGE.org. He recently tried a bottle of that newfangled
Sprite Tropical Remix and had this to say:
"Yes I agree the taste of Sprite Tropical
Remix is gross. Reminds me of Pepsi Blue. Both drinks are awful.
Coke should just reinvest again in Surge and get better ads."
-Jim
Jim, I couldn't have said it better myself! So
far, we've heard from no one who actually enjoys this new beverage.
Let us know your opinion of Sprite Tropical Remix by e-mailing us
at: surge@savesurge.org.
Poll Results - Pepsi Blue is Hated Most
Pepsi Blue: Could it taste any
worse???
|
Our latest SURGE Poll asked you which of the following
sodas do you hate the most?
Pepsi Blue - 38.6%
Mello Yello - 22%
Tab - 18%
Fresca - 10.6%
Mountain Dew Code Red - 6.6%
Mountain Dew - 4%
Total Votes = 150
The ultra-disgusting Pepsi Blue won by quite a
large margin, proving why it's probably not going to live past 2003.
Not surprisingly, Coke's own Mello Yello came in second. It was
the beverage that replaced our beloved SURGE in most markets and
no doubt is hated regardless of taste. Although, it does kind of
taste like Pledge furniture polish!
That's all the time we have for this week. Thank you everyone for
your love of SURGE!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
