Greetings SURGE Fans and
welcome to the 42nd edition of SaveSURGE.org! We've been standing
tall in the face of beverage oppression since February 1, 2002.
Sightings Report
There have been 2 new SURGE
Sightings since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. They are
in: IN & NY.
Unfortunately, there were 2 deletions. They are
in: Centerton, IN and Farmington, NY. We came out even!
Currently, there are 180 SURGE Sightings listed.
A big thank you to everyone who has reported a Sighting!
Show us Your SaveSURGE Flyers
Have you been spreading the word about SURGE by posting the SaveSURGE.org
Flyer? If so, we'd love to see some photos! Send your photos, along
with the location of the flyer to us at surge@savesurge.org
and we'll post them on the site in the near future.

Coke: SURGE is Still Alive
As an advocate of SURGE, Jim sent in a letter to Coca-Cola asking
for his favorite fully-loaded citrus soda's return to his hometown.
Coke's response was pretty standard, stating that it's up to local
bottlers to decide which beverages they produce (yeah, like the
corporate headquarters has no say!).
However, they did give Jim one piece of helpful
info when they declared that "we have not discontinued SURGE".
We at SaveSURGE.org also do our own checking from time to time and
all sources indicate that SURGE syrup will be made for the foreseeable
future.
Citra Lives on in Florida
In the 40th edition of SaveSURGE News, we reported that SURGE's
close cousin, Citra, was being discontinued in several areas. This
doesn't appear to be the case in the Tampa, FL area as a dedicated
SURGE fan wrote in to confirm that Citra is widely available in
2 liter and 20 ounce bottles. Let's hope that it flourishes in the
Sunshine State for many years to come.
SaveSURGE.org Bottler of the Week
As a tribute to Jim, who as you read above is a great friend of
SURGE we've decided to give this week's SaveSURGE.org Bottler of
the week award to Coca-Cola Enterprises - Midwest Division which
serves his area. Congratulations Jim! Now let's get out those stamps
and envelopes and let them know that we want SURGE!!!!
Coca-Cola Enterprises - Midwest Division

For your convenience we've provided a form letter
that you can just print, sign and mail on our How
You Can Help page.
Would you like your local Coca-Cola bottler to
be the next SaveSURGE.org Bottler of the Week? If so, e-mail us
your name, hometown, zip code and any bottler information you might
have (it's ok if you don't know who your bottler is, we should be
able to locate it for you) to us at: surge@savesurge.org.
Poll Results are Favorable
As part of SaveSURGE.org's recent redesign, a new SURGE Poll feature
was added on the lower left-hand side of the site. Our very first
poll asked you how you felt about the site's new look.
Out of the 92 votes we received over the past
week, 82.6% of voters say they "Loved it", 10.8% said
they were "Neutral" and 6.5% disagreed, saying they "Hate
it". Obviously, this isn't exactly a scientific poll (the results
somehow only add up to 99.9%!) but we're very happy that the vast
majority of users either like or can at least stand the new look.
The new poll asks, "What's the best way to
bring back SURGE?"
That's all the time we have for this week. Until next time, let's
BRING IT BACK!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
