SaveSURGE News

Hi All,

Welcome to the 4th edition of the SaveSURGE Newsletter! It's your best source for SURGE news.

It pays to Write to your Local Coke Bottler

A few weeks back, I finally wrote to my local Coca Cola bottler (using the form letter on savesurge.org's How You Can Help page) about my immense love for SURGE. As the days passed by, it seemed more and more likely that I would get no response from Coke.

Then, last Saturday (March 16), I opened my mailbox to see a letter from Coca Cola Enterprises Mid-Atlantic waiting for me! I was cautiously optimistic, not expecting any miracles but still hoping for the best.

Inside I found a letter expressing "regret" that SURGE was no longer being made in my area. The letter also stated that they would notify the marketing & sales department that somebody still loves SURGE.
Decent news at best. However, the best part of the letter were 4 coupons for free 12 packs of any Coca Cola Product!

Ok, so it's not as good as bringing back SURGE, but at least it makes writing the letter worth our while. You get to voice your opinion and get 2 free cases of soda. Not too shabby. And, who knows, if enough of us write, maybe they will bring it back in a few markets!

Site Updates

Well, I have some bad news to report. Folks in Iron Moutain, MI & Green Bay, WI have lost their SURGE :( It appears that the CCE bottler in those areas have discontinued our favorite soda. Alas, they have been removed from our Sightings page. But, those of you in Green Bay can still get some sweet sweet fountain SURGE at the local Chuck E. Cheese. Make sure to check out For the Love of Surge for a photo.

Also, we are going to begin archiving these newletters on the site. They will be listed in our News section.

Well, that's it for now. Remember, life's a scream when you have SURGE!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
