It Beckons Charles
-------------------------------
One of the great things about SURGE drinkers is their fully-loaded
passion for the soda they love. Charles beautifully expressed his
passion through a poem entitled "SURGE Beckons Me". It's
available for your reading pleasure in our For
the Love of SURGE section.
SURGE at Jeremy's School
-----------------------------------------
In the last edition of SaveSURGE News, K.C. Cool wrote in with the
story of when SURGE visited his school a few years back. Now, it's
Jeremy's turn! Check out his story below:
I just randomly found your site, and it reminded
me of my own experience with Surge at my high school, which was
similar to K.C. Cool's own encounter. I was in tenth grade at the
time, and one day I went out to the courtyard outside of the cafeteria
and there was a huge crowd gathered around something. The crowd
was really excited, and as I got closer I saw that there was a bunch
of people wearing green and passing out can upon can of Surge. There
were enough cans that every kid in the school got at least one (that
means at least 5000 cans of Surge were consumed that day. I went
to a big school. =] ) I had an early lunch, but I heard that some
of the kids who had the last lunch period were filling their backpacks
with cans. I wonder what it was like for the teachers, trying to
deal with an entire school full of caffeinated and sugared up teenagers.
Another thing that made this experience such a
lasting memory was what the Coke employees were wearing. They weren't
just wearing regular old Surge shirts; they were wearing the most
amazing "Surge-green" vinyl trench coats! The coats had
the logo emblazoned on the back, and they were pretty much the most
amazing pieces of merchandise clothing that I've seen in my life!
I've tried many times to find information about the coats (I even
e-mailed the Coca Cola Co., which yielded nothing), or at least
a picture of one to know that I didn't dream the whole thing!
Hopefully someone else out there witnessed the
same thing I did.
