Happy New Year to you SURGE fans and welcome to
the 34th edition of SaveSURGE News! It's the place where you find
out what's going on in the world of SURGE.
I know, I know, it's been a long time since the
last newsletter (we've been having some listserv problems) but let's
make the first edition of the new year a special one, shall we?
Sightings Update
-------------------------
There have been 8 new SURGE
Sightings since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. They are
in: AZ, CA, GA, MI, NV, OH, WA & WI.
Unfortunately, there were 4 deletions. They are
in: GA, NE, PA & WA.
There was one Sighting changed: Elkhorn, WI was
changed to Darien, WI.
Currently, there are 153 SURGE Sightings listed.
Thanks to everyone who's reported a Sighting!!!
Merchandising
----------------------
One of the most frequently updated sections of SaveSURGE.org during
this holiday season has been FAQs.
Our list (and photos) of SURGE merchandise has grown considerably
and it's something every SURGE fan should check out!
Some of the more interesting items that were submitted
include: Alarm Clock, Bag, Hockey Puck, Polo Shirt, Salt & Pepper
Shakers and a Toy Cab to name just a few.
A special shout out goes to Diana & Jim, both
of whom sent in photos from their vast SURGE collections!
Poetic Green
-------------------
Salvadore is a big fan of SURGE and recently decided to send us
a poem about his favorite fully-loaded citrus soda. Personally,
I find writing to be a great way of expressing one's feelings and
Salvadore did a marvelous job of showing us just how much SURGE
means to him!
Be sure to check it out in our For
the Love of SURGE section.
Can you Spare a Can?
---------------------------------
Matt wrote in to us over the holidays with a request. He is an avid
collector of soda cans and one bright-green gem that is missing
from his collection is SURGE. And so, as we have done many times,
we're calling on SURGE fans everywhere to help this young man out.
While he prefers the SURGE can to be unopened,
it would be quite rare to find one in that condition. So, if you
have a SURGE can that you'd like to donate to Matt that's in decent
condition, please e-mail us at surge@savesurge.org
and we'll get you in touch with him.
Bottler of the Week
---------------------------
I know, it's pretty hard to call this feature the SaveSURGE.org
Bottler of the Week when there hasn't been a newsletter in 3 weeks!
But hey, stuff happens, right? Just for kicks, let's give this week's
award to Atlanta, GA - the world headquarters of Coca-Cola.
Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. -
Atlanta
2500 Windy Ridge Pkwy.
Ste. 10
Atlanta, GA 30339
Let's get out those stamps & envelopes and
let's bring SURGE back to Atlanta!
For your convenience we've provided a form letter
that you can just print, sign and mail in our How
You Can Help page.
Would you like your local Coca-Cola bottler to
be the next SaveSURGE.org Bottler of the Week? If so, e-mail us
your name, hometown, zip code and any bottler information you might
have (it's ok if you don't know who your bottler is, we should be
able to locate it for you) to us at: surge@savesurge.org
.
That's all the time we have for this edition,
thanks for reading! Avery & I would like to take this opportunity
to wish you a very happy & healthy 2003!!!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
Co-Webmaster
