SaveSURGE News

Welcome one and all to the 26th edition of SaveSURGE News! It's the place where SURGE is everything.

Squint Hard Enough & You Might See SURGE
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, maybe it's not on every store shelf in America anymore (although we're working on it), but there are still plenty of SURGE Sightings to report!

There have been 8 new SURGE Sightings since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. They are in: CA, CT, FL, OK, PA, TX & VA (2).

Also, we have a small request. Some folks have been kind enough to post new Sightings on the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board. While we do appreciate the Sightings, we don't always get a chance to check the board as often as we'd like. E-mail is usually your best bet to get the quickest response from us. You can e-mail us your SURGE Sightings, or anything else for that matter at: surge@savesurge.org

Thanks to everyone who has given us a Sighting!

SURGE Brings Romance
-------------------------------------
Recently, we at SaveSURGE.org received a letter from Jason, who shared the story of how SURGE has a very special meaning for him and his girlfriend:

"I am writing from Normal, Illinois (central IL). First, I must say that I am rather impressed with your website and more importantly, the support of other Surge lovers. I had no idea that Surge was still being produced until reading through the site. The motivation for my sudden search for Surge is a rather interesting story. As mentioned before, I was under the impression that Surge was no longer in production, so it was based on this understanding that I made a bet with my wonderful girlfriend about two weeks ago. We were on the subject of marriage (yikes!), when she asked what she had to do to get me to marry her. Even though she is the woman of my dreams, I hastily said the first thing that came to mind to delay the inevitable. I said, "If you get me some Surge, I'll marry you." While it initially started off based on a joke, she has made it her quest to find some. As far as I know she has been unsuccessful in her quest so far. At this point, you may wonder why I am writing. The reason is that I want to acquire some Surge (fast) for two reasons. Obviously, I miss drinking my favorite beverage, but secondly I want to help Emily on her quest. I would love to sit down to a fine dinner in a restaurant and have the waiter bring out two bubbling beverages of green Surge!"

So, as we have done many times, we ask you, loyal SURGE lovers to help Jason and Emily in their quest for a fully loaded romantic evening (with carbos)! If you know of any places in the great state of Illinois currently serving SURGE, or are willing to part with some of your private stash, please e-mail us at surge@savesurge.org and we will in turn share your letter with Jason.

Even More Love
-----------------------
Yes, indeed! SaveSURGE.org's For the Love of SURGE section has been blessed with three new additions:

  • First, Mike from Rhode Island shares some pictures of his 2 ½ hour road trip to Newington, CT to get some citrus bliss.

  • Next, our friends at http://www.chibinet.com sent in a photographic essay chronicling their SURGE adventure. They crossed state lines in order to buy lots and lots of SURGE for their friend's bachelor party! It's definitely a must see, one of a kind exhibit.

  • Finally, my friend Tim (visit him at http://www.thepears.com) handed me a very cool piece of SURGE memorabilia. It's an actual SURGE promotional container that was used in a convenience store to serve customers that great green soda! It's an original and it even sports the very first SURGE logo. I snapped some photos for your viewing pleasure.

SaveSURGE.org Bottler of the Week:
------------------------------------------------------
In honor of Jason and Emily and their quest for SURGE, we are going to bestow their local Coca-Cola bottler with the distinction of being this week's SaveSURGE.org Bottler of the week!

Coca-Cola Bottling Company of St. Louis
3800 Mueller Rd.
Saint Charles, MO 63301

Let's write those letters and let them know how much SURGE means to us! You can find a sample letter to print, sign and mail on our How You Can Help page.

To nominate your bottler to be SaveSURGE.org's Bottler of the Week, e-mail us your name, hometown, zip code and any info you may have about your local Coca-Cola bottler to us at: surge@savesurge.org

What a wonderful week we've had! So much great news to report and we're hoping that next week is even better!
