Hello again all you friends of SURGE and welcome
to the 23rd edition of SaveSURGE news. We speak for SURGE, because
well, SURGE can't speak for itself!
We have lots of news this week so let's get this
party started
Seeing Green
----------------------
There have been 6 new SURGE
Sightings since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. They are
in: FL, IA (2), MD, NC & WA.
Unfortunately, there were deletions in Anaheim,
CA (Disneyland) & Erie, PA.
Make sure to check out the site regularly for
Sightings updates.
New SaveSURGE Bulletin Board
-------------------------------------------------
Your ever-devoted Co-Webmaster, Avery, recently took on the tall
task of creating the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board. Now, SURGE fans
everywhere can discuss all things regarding their favorite Fully
Loaded Citrus Soda!
There is currently a link to the board on SaveSURGE.org's
home page. Be on the lookout for a more permanent looking link
in the near future. You may also go directly to the board at this
address:

As usual, great job Avery!!!!
Check Out Our New Sister Site
--------------------------------------------
Yes indeed, SURGE websites are becoming contagious! A SURGE fan
named Fiz has just launched SURGE Central and is dedicated to bringing
you even more neon green goodness! Make sure to visit SURGE Central
at:
http://www.angelfire.com/pop2/surgecentral/
You can also find a link to the site on the top
portion of SaveSURGE.org's
Links page.
The site features a very cool Guest Map, make
sure to check it out!
Another Bottler Drops SURGE
-------------------------------------------
This is the kind of thing I hate to report, but you deserve the
truth. Recently, I wrote to The Coca Cola Bottling Company of the
Lehigh Valley, located in Bethlehem, PA. I wrote to them because
some of my remaining stash of SURGE was bottled there and I wanted
to find out if indeed they are still producing the world's best
soda.
After about two weeks of patiently waiting for
a reply, I received a letter confirming my worst fear; SURGE has
been discontinued in the Lehigh Valley. Bethlehem is definitely
a city on the decline, first all of those steel workers being laid
off and now this.
However, some good did come of this situation.
Because of my letter, the bottling company got some free SaveSURGE
stickers and then decided to browse the site. Their letter called
SaveSURGE.org "impressive" and at the very least they
now know that there is a large community of people who love and
miss SURGE.
All of this has led me to an idea for something
we're going to call the SaveSURGE.org Bottler of the Week. Each
week, we'll publish the name, address and phone number of a different
Coca-Cola bottler in this newsletter. We encourage you to write,
call or e-mail (if available) this bottler and tell them that you
want your SURGE! You can even use our ready-made letter found on
our How You Can Help
page.
So, we'll start off this new tradition by making
The Coca Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley our first SaveSURGE.org
Bottler of the Week:
The Coca Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh
Valley
2150 Industrial Drive
Bethlehem, PA 18017
Phone: (610) 866-8020
If you would like us to feature your local bottler,
e-mail your name, city, state, zip code and any bottler information
you might have (it's ok if you don't know who your bottler is, we
should be able to locate it for you) to us at surge@savesurge.org
And I Would Walk 500 Miles
---------------------------------------------
Sorry, I know that song is annoying but there's only so many headlines
I can think of in a day ;) Anyway, Jim from Wisconsin wrote in the
other day to tell us of his journey to get some SURGE.
Jim has been a great contributor to SaveSURGE.org
and had previously given us a Sighting at a Chuck
E. Cheese in Green Bay. He was even kind enough to let us know
that it was recently replaced, so that nobody took a road trip only
to be disappointed.
So, Jim and a friend decided to take a drive all
the way out to Hibbing, MN where the Mann Irongate 3 Theatres has
been known to pour a mighty good SURGE from their fountain. He reported
to us that the trip went very well, as he and his friend picked
up 4, 44 oz cups of that beloved citrus green!
In total, they drove approximately 5 hours to
reach their Fully Loaded destination! Thanks so much for letting
us know, Jim! You a truly a friend of SURGE.
Lots of Love
------------------
We had quite a busy week adding things to our For
The Love of SURGE section. Be sure to check out the latest user
submissions:
-Andrew
tells us how much SURGE means to him
-Jordan & K.C.
Cool both sent in pictures of their SURGE Sightings from around
North Carolina
-We've also posted the recipe
to make home made SURGE!
Ok, this was perhaps the longest ever edition of SaveSURGE News!
My fingers are tired
Anyway, have a wonderful week and be on
the lookout for SURGE!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
