Sightings Around the USA

The SURGE Sightings page has been very active since the last newsletter. To catch you up:

- 2 corrected Sightings in Auburn, NY and Salisbury, NC
- 1 Sighting removed in Green Bay, WI

Outdated Websites Can Break Hearts
-------------------------------------------------------
Every so often I will hit the search engines, looking for new SURGE info to share with you. Recently, I found a company called My Web Grocer (http://www.mywebgrocer.com), which specializes in setting up online grocery stores for retailers around the country. The basic idea of the online grocery stores is that people can go to the site, order their groceries and then pick them up (or have them delivered) later on in the day.

I checked out their listing of the online stores they run and I was amazed to find that there are 29 of them all across the country! Of course, this excited me because I figured at least one of them has to have SURGE, right?

I found a store that was about 2 hours away from me, but only a few minutes from SaveSURGE.org's loyal contributor, Shepard, who will come in a little later on. Browsing through their site, my jaw dropped as, yes indeed, they listed SURGE among their many sodas!!!! 6 packs, 2 liters and oh yes, 12 packs! I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. I was already planning my road trip and also decided to give Shepard a heads up that SURGE was in his area.

He was kind enough to go and check out the store so that he could find out if our dreams had come true, and, if they did, start a SURGE stockpile of his own. Unfortunately, when he reached the store, Shepard found no SURGE. He was told by some employees that they recently had 2 liter bottles but they were replaced by Vanilla Coke. The store's website had not been updated to reflect the product change.

Even though the dream of SURGE in our area didn't come true, there still may be hope for you! I'd definitely recommend that you visit www.mywebgrocer.com and check out some stores in your region. However, if you find SURGE listed, know that it could be a mistake. Make sure to contact the store before packing up that car for the weekend!

All You Need Is Love
------------------------------
Would The Beatles have loved SURGE as much as we do? We can't say for sure. But another band, Lavidity, certainly loves their citrus green. They recently sent us a photographic history of the time they spent with SURGE a few years back which you can see in our For The Love Of SURGE section. Be sure to check it out!

Will You Sell Your SURGE?
-----------------------------------------
Tracey wrote to us recently and told the story of how she and her friend drove 5 hours just to get some SURGE from a fountain in Tipton, IN! While she really wants to help her friend find some SURGE, 5 hour car trips are a little too inconvenient. She is looking for places or people in the Chicago area that sell SURGE. If you know of a place, or if you have a SURGE stockpile for sale, write to us at surge@savesurge.org and we'll pass along your info to her.

Until next time, drink 'em if you got 'em!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
