Hello all you friends of SURGE and welcome to
the 20th edition of SaveSURGE News. It's the only place on the web
to indulge in SURGE info!
SaveSURGE.org has been hopping with good news
since the last newsletter:
Latest Sightings
-----------------------
What a wonderful week it's been! Why? Because we have 5 new SURGE
Sightings to report! They are in: PA (2), UT, NY & AR. Make
sure to check out SaveSURGE.org's SURGE
Sightings page for more info.
SaveSURGE.org in the Press!
--------------------------------------------
I am honored to announce that SaveSURGE.org got a mention in a recent
edition of The Mid-York Weekly in Utica, NY. Reporter Gregory Herbowy
wrote an article about SURGE's limited availability in the NY area
and was gracious enough to mention our site. Check out SaveSURGE.org's
Press page for more
info.
Salt Lake SURGE
---------------------------
Brian, a student at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, recently
wrote in to let us know of the passionate effort he and his friends
are putting forth to save SURGE in SLC. Not only did Brian and his
friends sign the SaveSURGE petition AND write to their local Coca
Cola bottler, they have also made the extra effort to print and
hand out fliers about SURGE's plight at local convenience and grocery
stores! They are even planning a SaveSURGE club at their campus.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank
Brian and his friends for caring so much about SURGE! Your efforts
are very much appreciated by SURGE fans everywhere. They will no
doubt inspire others to do the same!
Poet of the Green
--------------------------
SaveSURGE.org's For the Love
of SURGE section has received many outstanding contributions
since the site's inception, but never before have we received a
poem! Well, that all changed when Joseph wrote in with his work
entitled "Carpe Vertum", which means "Seize the Green"
in Latin.
Joseph, a very dedicated SURGE fan, wrote the
poem about his 49-mile trips to get a cup of fully loaded citrus
heaven at a McDonald's restaurant. It's beautifully written and
something every SURGE fan can relate to! Thank you, Joseph!
5000 and Counting
---------------------------
On Tuesday, July 23rd, SaveSURGE.org officially received its 5,000th
hit. When Avery & I started the site, we had no idea what to
expect. We knew that many people missed SURGE as much we did, but
we never expected this kind of turnout! We'd like to give a very
heartfelt thank you to everyone who has visited and contributed
to the site. We are all making a difference and one day we will
return SURGE back to its rightful place: on the shelves of every
store in America!
Until next time, SURGE On!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
