SaveSURGE News

Hello and welcome my SURGE loving friends to the 18th edition of SaveSURGE News. The one and only newsletter (that we know of) dedicated to SURGE!

Lucky Number 7
------------------------
That's right folks, 7 new Sightings have come in since that last edition of SaveSURGE News! They are in CA (2), IN, MD (2), NJ & PA.

The Dedication of One
--------------------------------
Last week we received a wonderful letter from John, who has to be among the most dedicated fans of SURGE, ever!

John lives in Chicago, an area that unbelievably has NEVER sold SURGE. His son came home from college with a few cans and John was hooked. He looked all over the Chicago area, but could find no SURGE. After lots of phone calls, he found a bottler in Champaign, IL who produced our favorite citrus soda.

But, like many of his fellow SURGE-a-holics, John had the SURGE ripped from his hands when the Champaign bottler decided to stop producing it. This led him to search for a new bottler and he did indeed find one in LaSalle - Peru, Illinois, near the Iowa border. Great news, but of course, there was a catch.

The LaSalle - Peru bottler was in the process of discontinuing SURGE and once their supply of 60 cases (that's 120 12-packs) were sold, that was it. When John heard the news, his reaction was one only a true SURGE fanatic could have; he wanted to purchase all 60 cases! Yet again, there was a catch.

The Coca-Cola bottler informed him that they were only allowed to sell to retailers, not the general public. Did this stop John? No way!

The bottler sent him in the direction of a grocery store in nearby Morris, IL in hopes that they could special order all 60 cases of citrus nectar. John spoke to the store's manager, and viola! The manager agreed to order the SURGE when John offered to pay him up-front.

Just three days later, John came back to Morris and picked up his 60 cases of SURGE!!! As I write this, he has about 40 cases left and is loving every fully-loaded drop.

If this isn't dedication to a beverage, I don't know what is! Congratulations, John, you are a TRUE SURGE FANATIC! People like you are the reason we made SaveSURGE.org. Thank you for sharing your story with us!

Hey, Cabbie!
-------------------
Our SURGE Cab-owning friend Will recently checked in to tell us about his experience at the Checker Car Club meeting in Kalamazoo, MI. He met lots of cool people who owned various Checker cabs, but unfortunately no other SURGE cabs came to the meeting.

He was kind enough to send in a link to a photo of his Cab from the show:

Will also made a very kind gesture by promoting SaveSURGE.org and handing out several of our promotional stickers at the meeting.

Thanks so much, Will!!!

That's all the time we have from the world of SURGE…Thanks for reading and remember, life's a scream :)
