SaveSURGE News

Greetings SURGE Fans and welcome to the 149th edition of SaveSURGE News! The only place on the ‘net to feed your rush.

Important Changes Coming in July
As we all know, Coca-Cola’s test-marketing of Vault has made a huge impact on SURGE fans. The reaction to this new hybrid citrus beverage has been overwhelmingly positive. Most fans who’ve tried Vault agree that it tastes very similar to SURGE, if not exactly the same. While Vault is only in select areas of the country so far, it’s safe to assume that the positive reactions will continue among SURGE fans once it hits the shelves nationwide.

Avery and I, along with countless other SURGE fans, have come to the conclusion that Vault is the real deal. It’s the taste we had to live without for the past three years and we are thrilled to have it back!

As the positive words keep coming in to our special Vault Reviews section (http://www.savesurge.org/surge/blog_vault.php), it has led us to a crossroads of sorts. While Vault and SURGE are incredibly similar in taste, they are technically two different products. Each of which deserves a proper home on the web.

We are very proud to announce that starting in July 2005, a new online community for Vault fans will be launched! It’s going to be your first and best resource for all things Vault. More details, including the site’s address, will be released in the near future. Our hope is to have the site up and running on July 1, 2005 but it may take a few more days to get everything ready for prime time. Please stay tuned to SaveSURGE.org for the official announcements.

What does this mean for SaveSURGE.org?
SaveSURGE.org will still be here and going strong! It will continue to be regularly updated and will honor the world’s only Fully Loaded Citrus Soda.

However, with the release of Vault, our activism focus will indeed shift away from SURGE. We feel that because so many SURGE fans have told us that they feel Vault is so very similar to the original, it’s in our best interest to make sure that this new drink is released nationally and stays around for a very long time.

This does not mean that we have forgotten SURGE or in any way want to diminish its true greatness. It just means that we, and so many others, see the release of Vault as a huge victory for our community. We’ve worked hard to get back that taste we love and we want to use our resources to make sure that everyone will be able to enjoy it for many years to come.

Communities Combined
The last thing we wanted to do is split up this wonderful community. And so, we will combine both the Bulletin Board and Newsletter of SaveSURGE.org and the new Vault community to bring you the best of both worlds.

That means if you are currently receiving this newsletter in your e-mail box, you will continue to receive the new combined newsletter as well. The same thing goes for those of you registered to the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board. No need to change your bookmarks as the URL will stay the same.

Avery & I would like to thank all of you for your incredible support over the past three years. There is no doubt in our minds that without your hard work and dedication, Vault would not be quenching the thirst of so many SURGE fans. You have stood beside us through the highs and the lows and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Part of our new mission is to make sure that Vault is made available to everyone who wants to experience that wonderful citrus taste once again. The other part of our mission is to continue to keep the memory of SURGE alive through your words, pictures and creativity.

Two websites…
One community…
Citrus soda for all!

Be prepared for a great summer!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack & Avery Lund,
