Hello SURGE fans and welcome to the 136th edition of SaveSURGE News! As always, we’re fighting to save the soda you love.
SaveSURGE.org Media Blitz Rolls On
We are asking all SURGE fans to participate in the first-ever SaveSURGE.org Media Blitz! We want to spread the word about the way Coca-Cola is neglecting SURGE fans to as many media outlets as possible. Our hope is that the media will publicize our campaign and help convince Coca-Cola to change their minds regarding SURGE.
Please check out the SaveSURGE.org Media Blitz information at the top of our home page: http://www.savesurge.org. There you will find a form letter which you can send to your local newspapers, TV and radio stations. We’ve even included some links to help you find your local media on the web.
Ideas Pouring In
Since the recent announcement that Coca-Cola turned down a chance to bring SURGE to Wal-Mart, fans have been actively sharing their ideas on how to best bring their favorite soda back. We have received so many great suggestions and we thank you all for you input.
As longtime members of our community know, we at SaveSURGE.org do from time to time put fan suggestions into action. Over the years we have made many significant additions and changes to the website based on suggestions we have received from fans (the SaveSURGE.org Media Blitz is the most recent example). Unfortunately due to time and financial constraints, we haven’t been able to implement them all but we do want to let you know that we seriously consider every suggestion that we receive.
There have been many great suggestions popping up recently on the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board. The “Your Ideas” section of the board has been brewing with activity. For those of you who don’t regularly check the board, here a few of the ideas fans have suggested:
Buy Coca-Cola Stock: Some fans have brought up the idea of purchasing stock in Coca-Cola. Shareholders do receive a vote in some company decisions and are even invited to meetings. Buying a few shares of stock could be a great way to have your say about SURGE. As of this writing, the current price of Coca-Cola stock (symbol KO) is $41.65 per share.
Buy the Formula: Many fans have been interested in the idea of purchasing the SURGE formula or urging Coke to sell the formula to another beverage company. Either move may be unlikely but it wouldn’t be without precedent. A few years back, Pepsi sold the rights to its All Sport beverage to Monarch Beverages.
Bring URGE to the USA: This is one of the most popular ideas and something we’ve been trying to accomplish for some time. Although, our first and foremost goal has been to get SURGE back on store shelves, finding a way to permanently import its Norwegian equivalent has also been high on our priority list. We are very pleased to have our friend in Norway, Halvor Strand, delivering URGE to fans here in America. While shipping costs are high, we will continue working on ways to make URGE more affordable for fans everywhere.
These are just a few of the great ideas coming from SURGE fans. We feel so fortunate to have such great creativity and enthusiasm from our community! We will continue to listen to your ideas and do what we can to make our dreams of one day sipping SURGE come true.

Poll Results – We’re Mad!
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: Are you mad about Coca-Cola's decision to not bring back SURGE?
96.1% - Yes
3.8% - No
Total Votes: 181
I guess this was a prime example of a loaded question but it was also a great example of how upset SURGE fans truly are. We can only hope Coca-Cola wakes up and realizes how much they have hurt us.
That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you SURGE fans for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
