SaveSURGE News

Greetings SURGE fans and welcome to the 130th edition of SaveSURGE News! Since 2002, we’ve been fighting for your right to consume mass quantities of fully loaded citrus soda.

The trouble is we need our friends at Coca-Cola to start producing those mass quantities! Please give them a call toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE and let them know that you want SURGE.

Sightings Report
SURGE SightingsWith this edition of SaveSURGE News, we are sending our Sightings Report on hiatus until our beloved SURGE is back on store shelves. It’s had a great run of almost three years but as the supply of SURGE syrup has run dry, so have the Sightings. We’ve simply had too many inaccurate additions over the past six months to continue the listings at this point.

But don’t worry - we are still fighting to save the soda you love! We are closer than ever to reach our goal and we won’t stop until we have SURGE!!!

Coke Starts 2005 with New Products
Coca-Cola’s Chairman & CEO, E. Neville Isdell, has talked openly about a need for innovation at the company since he took over last summer. Both he and the company are coming through on that declaration with a host of new products.

The biggest announcement so far has been the new Coca-Cola with Lime. Sales of the previously released Diet Coke with Lime have encouraged the company to also try a non-diet version. No word yet on an official launch date but the product is expected to debut by the end of March 2005.

As previously reported in SaveSURGE News, Coke has already launched a new energy drink called Full Throttle. While energy drinks aren’t considered innovative, the fact that Full Throttle comes in a 16oz. can certainly is. Most of these beverages tend to come in much smaller, 8oz. cans. Full Throttle one of the few energy drinks to provide value along with a boost. For more information on Full Throttle, visit:

Then, there is the drawing board. Coca-Cola has at least two new products in the works. First, there is the new citrus soda called Vault. SURGE fans have already reported seeing Vault in taste tests in the Rochester, NY area. The product is currently in testing and there has been no word on whether or not it will be launched on a national basis.

There is also word that a new coffee-flavored soda is being formulated. No other information on this product has been made available.

Our feeling is that Coke’s renewed commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction means that great things may be on the way for SURGE fans. Still, we can take nothing for granted. We must continue to call, write and spread the word about our favorite soda.

Poll Results – A Warm Beach Sounds Good!
Where is the ideal place to drink a SURGE?

54.4% - Warm, sandy beach in California
23.3% - Mean streets of New York
14.4% - Icy waters of a Polar Bear Plunge
7.7% - Outside cafe in Paris

Total Votes: 90

With the ice-cold temperatures across much of the country, an ice-cold SURGE and a warm beach would be a welcomed change!

That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you SURGE fans for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
