SURGE – It Shows Up Where you Least Expect it
Two SURGE fans have recently seen reminders of their favorite soda in places they didn’t expect:

David reports that he was watching MADtv’s 50 greatest episodes on Comedy Central over the holidays and guess what he found! A skit taking place at a movie theatre concession stand had a soda fountain with a SURGE logo clearly visible behind the counter.

Shepard Spots SURGE in Las VegasSaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Shepard Ritzen was recently in Las Vegas and he visited a Coca-Cola Store. Of course, he found no references to SURGE there but when he went next door to a Game Works arcade, he was in for a treat. Shepard found a very large original SURGE logo painted on the side of their concession stand! You can find more details of this discovery at:

SURGE Fans Tell Coke Their Holiday Wish and Help a Good Cause
Tell Coke Your Holiday DreamDuring the recent holiday season, our friends at Coca-Cola have been running a special website where consumers can share their holiday dreams with the company. For the first 50,000 dreams they receive, Coke will donate $1 each to America’s Second Harvest, which is a nationwide network of food banks.

So, how can SURGE fans get involved? Go to http://www.whitechristmas.coca-cola.com/ and tell Coca-Cola that your holiday wish is for the company to bring back our beloved SURGE! You’re not only helping to bring SURGE back, you’re also helping a good cause at the same time. It’s definitely a win-win situation.

Special thanks goes out to SURGE fan Ben for making us aware of this campaign.

‘Save Surge – The Movie’ Still Winning Fans
Save Surge - The MovieSaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Drew Bizzell reported this week that a recent screening of his film, “Save Surge – The Movie” in front of approximately 75 people in Austin, TX was a hit!

He tells us that his friend Katie showed the film at a party and the reaction from viewers was great. There were actually many SURGE fans in the audience who hadn’t heard about SaveSURGE.org previously so it was a huge help in getting some exposure for our cause.

The screening went so well that Drew is planning to do another one in the Austin area soon. He tells us, “I'm in talks of doing another screening, a bigger one. Austin is a great outlet for amateur film-makers, and I have a feeling we could gather a large crowd.”

Congratulations Drew and thank you for helping to spread the word!

Poll Results – Taste and Memories
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: What makes SURGE important to you?

58.3% - Both
28.8% - I love the taste
12.7% - I have great memories of it

Total Votes: 149

As the SaveSURGE.org community has proven over the years, we have a very unique bond with our favorite soda. Personally, I find that my love for the soda is truly a combination of its refreshing taste and the wonderful memories that I have of it. It seems the majority of those of you who voted feel the same.

Well, that about does it for this week’s edition of SaveSURGE News. Thank you all for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
