Greetings SURGE fans and welcome to the 118th edition of SaveSURGE News! We are soda activists.
What do activists do? They take action! Give our friends at Coca-Cola a call toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE and let them know that you want SURGE.
Sightings Report
There have been no new confirmed SURGE Sightings since the last edition of SaveSURGE News.
Sadly, there were 4 deletions in East Longmeadow, MA; Oneota, NY; New Hartford, NY & Liverpool, NY.
One note on that East Longmeadow, MA deletion: SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Shepard Ritzen informed us that there is a large SURGE cooler available for sale at that location. It is the DB Mart located at 43 Maple Street. If you live in the area and would like to purchase the cooler, call the manager at (413) 788-7012. To see a photo of the cooler, visit www.savesurge.org.
Currently, there are 48 SURGE Sightings listed. Thanks to all of you who keep an eye out for SURGE!

Eric Interviewed at prolefeed.com
This week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Eric Egolf of the entertainment website prolefeed.com. We discussed the past, present and future of SURGE. We also talked about the extreme loyalty SURGE fans have for their favorite drink.

The Search for the Human Hockey Puck
Recently we heard from Ben who is on a desperate search for a very rare piece of SURGE history. He tells us that back in 2000-01, the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey League (now defunct) ran a promotion called the “SURGE Human Hockey Puck”.
Apparently, the promotion consisted of placing hockey fans inside a large sling-shot. During the event, a song which mentioned SURGE played over the public address system.
Ben has been looking all over for a copy of the song. Sadly, the Blades and the league in which they played are now gone which makes his task that much harder.
So, as we often do, we’re calling on SURGE fans to help out. If you attended a KC Blades game during the 2000-01 season and remember this song (and maybe even have a copy of the song), e-mail us at surge@savesurge.org and we’ll let Ben know.
To jog your memory a little bit, Ben said they lyrics went a little something like this: “They're going to pull the cord and then you're gonna FLY...Now Surge ...Now Surge...Now Scream.”
Soda Favorites Gets URGE
SURGE’s Norwegian equivalent, URGE, is now available in very limited quantities over at SodaFavorites.com. George from Soda Favorites tells us that it was quite expensive to get just a couple of cases of Norway’s fully loaded citrus soda. The cost for a 16.9oz. bottle is $15.99 plus shipping. Their shipment of this drink is due to arrive within a few weeks.
While the cost is high, this declares our long-running URGE in the USA campaign a success!

“Save Surge – The Movie” in Limited Supply
SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Drew Bizzell tells us that he has enough supplies to keep producing copies of his hit documentary, “Save Surge – The Movie” until the end of 2004. After that, he will be spending some time focusing on his next project.
So, that means you only have a couple of months to check out this terrific movie! It’s absolutely brilliant and I think all SURGE fans can relate to its message.
Drew has also informed us that he will be holding a screening of the film for family and friends in the near future.
