Good day SURGE fans and welcome to the 112th edition of SaveSURGE News! Each week, we strive to bring you just a little closer to the soda you love.

If you want to get really close to your favorite soda, then by all means give our friends at Coca-Cola a call toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE and tell them you want SURGE back immediately.

SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL SaveSURGE MONTH – SEE ARTICLE BELOW!

September is National SaveSURGE Month
The SaveSURGE movement is stronger than ever, but we still need your help! That’s why September will be known as National SaveSURGE Month for the second year in a row.

Participating in National Save SURGE Month is so easy! It won’t cost you a penny and it could take as little as 5 minutes per week. Here’s what we’re asking EVERY SURGE FAN to do:

Each Friday in September…
We’re asking SURGE fans to call Coca-Cola’s toll-free number, 1-800-GET-COKE. Tell the friendly Coke representative that you would like SURGE brought back to your town. Call them once or call them 50 times, just please call them! They keep a log of all product requests and every time you vote for SURGE, it counts. We’ll be posting reminders up on the website throughout the month.

Other things you can do…
(*note that not all of the following activities are free – phone charges, charges for copying flyers, mailing letters, etc. may be extra)

-Use our handy Coca-Cola Directory to locate and contact your local Coca-Cola Bottler:
http://www.savesurge.org/surge/help_coke.shtml

-Print, copy and distribute the SaveSURGE.org Flyer:
http://www.savesurge.org/surge/help_flyer.shtml

-Start your own local petition:

-Wear your SURGE and SaveSURGE.org gear when you’re out.

-Tell your friends about SaveSURGE.org:

We’re asking all SURGE fans to do the bare minimum and call Coke toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE at least one time every Friday during September. Please do what you can, it goes a long way to bringing SURGE back to store shelves everywhere!

Eric Interviewed by Bloomberg
BloombergI recently had the pleasure of being interviewed for an article by Bloomberg financial reporter Celeste Perri. Celeste is writing an article about the beverage industry and the new “mid-calorie” colas that are now on the market. I offered my opinions on some of the recent trends in the beverage industry and of course about SURGE. Hopefully the article will bring some positive publicity for the SaveSURGE community!

I am not aware of the publication date for the article. Please keep checking SaveSURGE.org for a copy of the article when it becomes available.

Cab #7 – Sold!
SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Will Brandum reports that SURGE Cab #7 was finally sold! As we reported previously, the cab was facing the possibility of facing the chop shop if did not sell soon. Thankfully, crisis was averted and the world still has a beautiful and ultra-rare SURGE Checker Cab. Congratulations to the new owner!

Poll Results – Sweet, sweet memories
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: Do you remember the first time you drank SURGE?

84.2% - Yes
15.7% - No

Total Votes: 95

I still remember my first SURGE. I had just started a new job back in the summer of 1997 and saw this crazy looking new can in the vending machine. I decided to give it a try…I didn’t like it! What? How could I not like it? I’m not sure. I just remember it being really strong and perhaps I just wasn’t prepared for what I was experiencing. Funny thing though. A few days later I had this craving to try it again. So I bought my second SURGE and I’ve been hooked ever since!

That’s all the time we have for this week. Thanks to all of you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
