SaveSURGE News

Hello once again SURGE fans and welcome to the 104th edition of SaveSURGE News! Serving the fully-loaded masses since 2002.

We urge you to call our friends at Coca-Cola toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE to let them know that you want SURGE back in stores everywhere!

Sightings Report
SURGE Sightings There were no new SURGE Sightings listed since the last edition of SaveSURGE News.

Sadly, there were 2 deletions in St. Louis, MO and Tipton, IN.

Currently, there are 89 SURGE Sightings listed. Thanks to everyone who’s seen SURGE!

Sightings Gets a Volunteer
There’s been a rash of false/expired SURGE Sighting information coming in lately and it has become a problem for SURGE fans everywhere. It’s not only made my job harder, it’s also disappointed many a SURGE fan who has taken time out of their day to visit a Sighting only to find that their favorite soda is not being served.

The problem has grown so large that I even considered shutting down the Sightings section altogether. Before I made any crazy decisions I decided to get some feedback from fans over on the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board and the message was clear: The Sightings must stay! SURGE Sightings is definitely one of the most popular and important areas of the site. So, how can we prevent false and expired information from making it onto the list?

I’m proud to announce that one of our very dedicated SURGE fans has stepped up to the plate. Ryan (a.k.a. TheSurgeMan from the Bulletin Board) has volunteered to personally verify all new SURGE Sighting information that comes in. He’s been on the job only a few days and has already saved SURGE fans from two Sightings that no longer exist.

Many thanks go out to Ryan for his assistance in allowing the future SURGE Sightings to be much more accurate! His help is greatly appreciated. A special thank you also goes out to all SURGE fans who voiced their opinion over the Sightings debacle. Your feedback made my decision a much easier one.

William Shares a Song
SURGE fan William wrote to us this week and shared some lyrics to a song he’s written about his favorite soda. It’s called “The SURGE Song”, here’s a little taste:

William's SURGE Story & SongWhat is the carbonated
SURGE!
What gets you wired faster?
SURGE!!
What comes in bottles or in cans?
SURGE!
Can't get enough of it.
SURGE!
How we really love it.
SURGE!
Makes me think I'm a man.
SURGE!
I can kiss and hug it.
But I'd rather chug it.
SURGE!

While the song hasn’t been recorded just yet, William suggested that perhaps SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Timb would be a great choice to sing it! Timb is an avid reader of SaveSURGE News so he may just take William up on that offer. Thanks so much William and keep up the great work!

Cathy’s SURGE Story
Cathy shared a tale of her love for SURGE. She tells us of how she fell in love with that fully loaded citrus soda – only to lose it in the end like so many of us. But then she found SaveSURGE.org and hope has been restored!

Poll Results – C2 Sampling
Coca-Cola C2The latest SURGE Poll asked you: Have you tried Coca-Cola's new mid-calorie cola, C2?

61.7% - No
38.2% - Yes

Total Votes: 94

While the majority of SURGE fans haven’t taken a sip of C2 just yet , it will be interesting to see just how popular the drink becomes. Coca-Cola appears to be spending quite a bit on advertising so they are very much behind the brand. Of course, as we all know that can change in a hurry.

That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you all for your love of SURGE!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
