Mikey G.'s Great Weekend

I'd have to say this was not my regular, mediocre weekend. Everyday was filled with fun surprises, including a few memories of Surge's past.

I was driving home last Friday from college, when I passed the local drive-thru convenience store in my hometown. Most of the time I don't bother to look in that direction, but this time, something caught my eyes! Something big, bright green, with a logo of Coke's past. There beside the station was a SURGE cooler. I couldn't believe it. I freaked out and turned in fast to see if the owner was there. It wasn't until Sunday when he finally came back to work. I talked to him about the cooler outside. He said he would be interested in selling it later. So I will be contacting him in the near future.

My second encounter with a relic of this awesome drink was in my church. After church, a friend of mine, nicknamed Surge by the way, started talking about what we did on our weekend. I mentioned the story of the Surge cooler. He then revealed that his friend gave him a hat a while back with SURGE on the front. Again, I freaked out and asked if he was interested in selling it. He said "Dude, I can just give it to you". You gotta be kidding me. This guy wants to give me this historical artifact that could easily go for $50 on e-Bay. Then he took me to his house and I took the precious head cover.

Surge: It wasn't just a drink, it was a big part of my life. Only 5 years, give or take, have past since its discontinuation, but it feels like an eternity. This weekend was totally stoked!!!

Awesome! That is one cool weekend :)
