Howdy SURGE and Vault fans and welcome to the 9th edition of The Kick and Rush Gazette! We’re the official voice of SaveSURGE.org and VaultKicks.org. Vault (and Vault Zero) to Expand into New Markets in 2006! This is great news and it’s all happening because of you! Without your tireless efforts with SaveSURGE.org over the years, without your requests for Vault to go national, none of this could have been possible. Your collective voice let Coca-Cola know that we were indeed serious about our desire to taste our favorite soda once again. Go ahead, pat yourselves on the back! Personally, I am really excited about Vault Zero coming to the market. While I’m not really into diet beverages, I think Vault Zero shows that Coca-Cola is serious and committed to the Vault brand. It’s going to be our job to make sure that they have no possible reason to take Vault off of the market. Please stay tuned to VaultKicks.org for the latest details on the expansion of Vault.

Both of these drinks are essentially “Enhanced Water”, a relatively new category that is taking the beverage industry by storm. I suppose the idea is to get people who don’t usually drink water to buy more of it by adding flavors, vitamins and minerals, etc. to the mix. These drinks are also lower in calories and carbohydrates when compared with regular Powerade or Gatorade. During this summer, I’ve had some stomach problems so I’ve been actually drinking more water than anything, including soda. After tiring of the taste of just plain old water I was excited to try both of these “enhanced” versions. Here are my thoughts on both: Powerade Option Strawberry: I was really pleasantly surprised with this one. I was expecting Powerade Option to have a diet soda aftertaste, but it went down very smoothly. It has an almost Kool-Aid like strawberry taste that is very tolerable. Propel Fitness Water Berry: This was not the first time I’ve tasted Propel. Recently, I’ve had their Lemon flavor which was ok, but not something I’d drink regularly. I think the Berry version was definitely better than Lemon. The taste was a bit more tart when compared with Powerade Option. The Winner: This was a very tough call because the drinks are just so similar. I give the very slightest of edges to Powerade Option but only because I prefer the sweeter taste that if offers. Those of you who enjoy a more tart beverage would be very happy with Propel as well. For more information on these products visit: That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you all for your continued support! Sincerely, Eric Karkovack
