Vault Test-Marketing: ‘Incredible’
A source with close ties to Vault recently told me that the results of the test-marketing have been “incredible” so far. That source also indicated that a national launch for Vault looks like it will occur in the future. That’s outstanding news for our community!
One of the main goals of our community is to ensure that Vault gets a national release so that fans everywhere have a chance to try it. Judging from everything I hear, Vault fans have been going crazy for this new hybrid beverage and that can only mean that a national release is just around the corner.
We’ve also learned that Coca-Cola has hired an ad agency to create television commercials for Vault. We have yet to hear reports from anyone who has actually viewed one of these commercials so that leads us to believe that they are being saved for the national release.
For more information regarding Vault’s advertising, click here.
Stay tuned for the latest details as they become available.

Weekly Interview – Gregg L.
This week’s interview is with Gregg, known to Bulletin Board members as “Hollow Man”. He is a great guy and a very dedicated member of this community.
His story is unique in that he never tried SURGE until it was already taken off the market! However, he was so interested in our community that he joined the fight to save a soda that he hadn’t had the pleasure of tasting yet.
We recently sat down with Gregg and asked him to share his story:
1. When did you have your first SURGE and why in the world did it take you so long to try it?
Although it will be confounding for most SaveSURGE.org fans to hear, the first SURGE I had was in October of 2004. I was fully aware of SURGE in the 90s because the woman I was dating at the time loved it, but alas, I wasn't much of a soda drinker myself back then. My first gulp of SURGE, therefore, was a rush of emotions. I was elated because it was every bit as good as I had been led to believe. But I was also stupified: I wanted to kick myself for waiting so long to try such a wonderful beverage!
2. What do you enjoy most about our community?
The SaveSURGE.org community is the cream of the Internet crop because there are few groups that are as determined as we are towards achieving our goal. It's our perseverance that inspired me to seek out SURGE. It's our fortitude that led me to contact Coke and Wal-Mart regarding bringing SURGE back to store shelves. And now I'm happy to be part of the unstoppable force that demands Coke release VAULT nationally!
3. Do you consider the release of Vault to be a victory?
Most definitely. VAULT's ingredient list, and most importantly, taste, is very similar to SURGE's. I feel that without SaveSURGE.org's input, Coke would not have bothered to release a citrus soda that's formula is so SURGE-esque. VAULT is a fantastic tasting soda, so I'm sure if Coke stays behind it, they will be handsomely rewarded with plentiful sales!
4. What other sodas do you enjoy?
I am a big fan of Sunkist because a) it's caffeinated (rare for an orange soda), and b) I feel it is the only orange soda that's flavor rises above the blandness of its competitors. BAWLS gets high marks from me due to its fantastic marketing and packaging (plus it tastes good to boot). dnL deserves praise for its "upside down" campaign (DPSU should have given dnL more time to penetrate the marketplace). And VAULT (a.k.a. SURGE v. 2.0)!
5. If you had one wish, what would it be?
My favorite "fun" wish is to be a guitarist in a successful and powerful (i.e. loud) hard alternative/heavy metal band. "These go to eleven!"
Thanks to Gregg for taking time out to speak with us! Be sure to visit his blog at:

That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you all for your continued support!
