Report: Vault Distribution Expanding!
As first reported on the Vault Blog this week, it appears that our favorite hybrid is set to expand its distribution into new states!

A friend in the retail industry has informed us that Vault has shown up as an ordering option for their employer’s store in New England. We have also heard word that Coca-Cola is now telling consumers that Vault is also now available in parts of Georgia.

Let’s hope that this is the beginning of a massive expansion! We are currently trying to confirm this with Coca-Cola. Please stay tuned for more information.

We’ve Come a Long Way Together
As I look back to the days when our community was born in 2002, I am just amazed to see how far we’ve come. We’ve come a long way even in these past seven months of 2005.

Those of you who have been with us for awhile know the rollercoaster-ride that SURGE fans have been on. It seemed like every week we were either up or down. But through it all, we have stuck together and have always stayed focus on our goal.

Take our recent “Bring SURGE to Wal-Mart” campaign that we held in February and March of 2005. We asked you to contact Wal-Mart and request that the retail giant help us convince Coca-Cola to bring SURGE to their stores.

Wal-Mart received thousands of requests and even took the time to call many fans individually to thank them and get more information about SURGE. They even contacted Coca-Cola regarding the possibilities of a SURGE comeback (despite reports that say otherwise). At that point, our community truly was on top of the world.

Then came news that Coca-Cola had decided to reject the idea. I can tell you, reporting that news was absolutely the hardest thing Avery and I ever had to share with you. We feared that this could be the end of the community and that no one would stick around after such a defeat.

Fortunately, we couldn’t have been more wrong! You stood up as a community and showed your support in a way we couldn’t have imagined. You kept SaveSURGE.org going and you brought a positive spirit that lifted us out of our disappointment.

And, because of your spirit, our community is now enjoying Vault! Personally, it is the most satisfying thing in the world to hear from so many of you who are excited about this new hybrid with a familiar taste.

Now our goal is to make sure that all of you get the chance to taste victory! We want Vault to become available nationally and, of course, we can’t do it without you! Please call Coca-Cola toll-free at 1-800-GET-COKE and let them know that you want Vault in your town.

Avery and I are so proud of all of you for what you have accomplished. When you take your first (or next) sip of Vault, feel free to pat yourself on the back and think about what it took to get to where we are today.

Weekly Interview – Jim Goldsmith, Jr.
Street Rydez – Vol. 1Welcome to our first ever Weekly Interview! This is a brand new feature where we will interview SURGE and Vault fans. Our focus will be on those of you who have contributed your stories, photos and other creative materials to either SaveSURGE.org or VaultKicks.org as well as those who help inspire our community.

This week’s Q&A is with a newcomer to our community: Jim Goldsmith, Jr. Jim is a young filmmaker from Michigan and a big SURGE fan. He contacted us recently and told us about his enjoyment of SURGE and his upcoming film, “Street Rydez – Vol. 1”.

1. How did you come up with the idea for Street Rydez?
Well all of the cars I see and film is on the street and they was riding, whether they was cruising down the street or driving down the street or hitting switches they was still riding on the street, that's how I came up with Street Rydez but I knew I couldn't spell "rides" the normal way so I had to make a word twist on "Rydez" for it to stand out more and be different from other people.

2. What can people expect to see in the film?
A lot of crazy wild stuff from Flint, Michigan to Ohio, I just came back from Columbus Ohio few days ago out there filming and promoting Street Rydez and it went nice. We got cars from New School to Old School also Classic Cars, they all doing a lot of different stuff that will blow your mind, from racing, hitting switches, and more you will get to see that big huge bass system they got in they ride. I'm gonna show you what they got under they hood of their car and in the inside of their car and all that right there with the owner of the trickout cars. Also got an Impala SS, all kinds of Chevy's, Cadillacs, Cutlesses, Swin Bikes, and more. The movie is already catching eyes and dropping mouths. People want to stay glued to the tv when you watch this, it's too much stuff to talk about YOU WILL HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT.

3. Were you a SURGE fan? If so, what did you enjoy about it?
I think Surge kinda remind me of Mountain Dew and Mountain Dew is good. I had Surge more than once but then next thing you know you go to the store and look for it and they just took it off of the market and I didn't understand that. But it's so many drinks on the market til when one go off the market you might not to much notice unless it stand out by it self like a Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, Everfresh. I love that in cranberry or fruit punch, Sobae good as well, Gatorade, Powerade, or Surge.

4. When do you expect Street Rydez Vol. I to be available?
Well with it being in the film festivals international and nationwide and stuff hoping it can come out this year, 2005, before Christmas. If not it will probably be out the beginning of next year, 2006, because we're talking to a few international and nationwide distributors so just trying to go with the right one that can put it in all stores nationwide and international. To reach out to the Street Rydez fans, we got a lot of those in Canada, Japan, Russia, and in a whole lot of countries and states just want everyone to see and be able to purchase Street Rydez Vol. 1 - The Beginning. But with the companies who are talking about sponsoring Street Rydez like Coca Cola, Mountain Dew, Some Rootbeer companies, some more soft drink companies and other companies, even some Hummer magazines and stuff, so we are still seeking sponsors and stuff and also getting advertising through Viacom, Clear Channel, Lamar Advertising. The 30 second commercial getting advertise nationwide on B.E.T. Speed Channel, Spike TV, MTV, TBS, TNT, ESPN, A&E.

5. Is there going to be a Vol. II?
Yes there will, it's called Street Rydez Vol. 2 - Bigger and Better. I will let you know if the title changes but for now that's what it's called. But, Street Rydez Vol. 1 - The Beginning will also be getting advertising on radio stations and more so be on the look out for it and the website There are a lot of NFL football players and NBA basketball players that know about Street Rydez and they are supporting it. We also gonna set something up with us showing you the NFL players and NBA Basketball players' cars and interviewing them. Who knows, that might be in Street Rydez Vol. 1 this or the next Street Rydez Vol. 2.

Many thanks to Jim Goldsmith, Jr. for speaking with us! We wish him the best of luck with his film. Too bad he couldn’t get a SURGE cab in there!

That’s all the time we have for this week. Thanks to all of you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Eric Karkovack
