Hello fellow fans of SURGE and Vault and welcome to the 10th edition of The Kick and Rush Gazette! Serving our community since 2002.

Coke Bottler Optimistic About Vault
According to the September 15, 2005 edition of Beverage World Magazine (http://www.beverageworld.com), an official at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated (CCBCC) truly likes what he sees so far from Vault.

Bill Elmore, president and COO of the bottler told Beverage World that "Vault is going to be a success...And it is a great example of the fact that, increasingly, we are an interdependent system. We are working with Coca-Cola Enterprises and Coke United and The Coca-Cola Company on the best ways to take it to market and the best way to ensure its success nationwide later on."

CCBCC is based in Charlotte, NC and is one of the bottlers who have been test-marketing Vault since May 2005.

Eric’s Take:
All indications point to Vault being handled more effectively than SURGE was by Coca-Cola and its bottlers. I’ve heard reports of chaos before the initial SURGE launch back in 1997, including the firing of an agency just weeks before the fully loaded citrus soda was to hit store shelves. Thankfully, this time around things look to be more stable. That can only help in the effort to make Vault a brand that stays around for the long haul.

Weekly Interview: Killa-Cs
In this edition of our weekly interview, we chat with Killa-Cs who is a longtime SURGE fan and member of our Bulletin Board since March 2004. And away we go…

1. What do you enjoy most about our community?
It feels like a family. We seem to have come together well and achieved part of what we set out to do. Vault is essentially our creation. We are a unit and should never lose touch with each other.

2. Tell us about your love for SURGE. Why do you love it?
Well I guess I was a teenager when Surge came out and it was billed as a rebellious drink. So I guess being in a stage of rebellion I decided to drink tons of it. After seeing that it really didn't make me a rebel drinking it, I then began noticing the taste was literally like nothing I've had before and was the best taste ever.

3. Have you tried Vault? If so, how do you think it compares to SURGE?
No I have not tried Vault. College tuition is kicking my a**.

4. What other sodas do you enjoy?
Well if we are including discontinued sodas, I would have Surge (well duh), DNL and Pepsi Blue. As for non-discontinued I would say Pepsi, Livewire, Pitch Black II, and A&W Rootbeer. And if Vault is half as good as some say it is you could put it on the list as well.

5. Who are some of your favorite bands or musical artists?
I'll try to keep it at 5. Tupac, Eminem, Staind, Metallica, and Michelle Branch…ok time for people to start cracking jokes on me for that last one.

Thanks to Killa-Cs for speaking with us!

That’s all the time we have for this week. Thank you all for your continued support!

Sincerely,
